Hardy Ice Plant (Delosperma cooperi)

Sun: They prefer full sun and they can tolerate some light shade

Zone: 6-9, perfect for that dry spot in your garden or yard

Soil: Well drained soil. They do not tolerate wet soil and will not do well in a soil that has poor drainage.

Water: Since Ice Plant is a succulent, they need very little watering and thrive in dry, drought-like conditions. Perfect for planters in that windy sunny spot!

Habitat: Succulent foliage and mostly evergreen, mat forming, and they bloom mid spring to late summer for 4-6 weeks.

Tip: They benefit from winter mulch in northern areas. They are called ice plants because the leaves and flowers may shimmer like they are covered in frost or ice crystals.

Category: Spiller – Should drape down to cover the edges of the Pockets, as a “frame” along the side edges, and mixed into the bottom edge.
