Cannas (Canna x generalis)

Sun: Full Sun

Zone: Zones 8-11 and can usually be grown in slightly cooler zones with a little extra love and care.

Soil: They do well in just about any soil. We always suggest an organic potting mixl. Since they are tropical they love their soil moist.

Water: Keep these guys watered to keep them beautiful. Just like any plant be careful not to over-water, but keep them moist.

Habitat: Cannas are perennials that come in many flower colors with leaves and leafstalks of all different designs. They are lush tropical plants and create a beautiful focal point in or on any garden. They usually bloom from late spring or early summer all the way until the first frost.

Tip: Once the flower head dies pinch it off. Since this plant spreads by rhizomes, be sure to divide the clumps in the fall or spring while the plant is not growing.

Category: Thriller – Used as focal points and to create a dynamic visual composition.
